I saw one a while ago, it was amazing!

I just found this, she must have been a Gold Champagne pinto mare. She was beautiful!

That is just beautiful! One thing my horses must have are big pretty eyes, i cannot imagine how beautiful that horse must be in person.

This is mine classic cream champagne stallions eye.

Here is my 2003 colt's eye when he was one day old.

Here is what they look like, now:

(not quite yellow, but not the usual brown)

He is a mere silver dapple black carrying a dilute gene.

That said, I HAVE seen actual yellow eyes. Both were a liver chestnut color. They were all brown/gold toned highlights in the hair coat and yellow eyes. One was a mare, and the other was a dwarf-afflicted colt.

The were very striking against the dark coats.

I know the coloration is fairly common in some Champagne variations. Maybe dontworrybeappy will show up and share some great pics.

Our stallion Gambler is a classic champagne and I will never forget his eyes when they were changing. He had beautiful blue eyes when he foaled and then after a while his eyes turned a green color. Very green, so much so I remember telling my daughter I thought he was going blind. At this time we ourselves never knew about the champagne horses. They then did become a beautiful amber color which they are now. Needless to say we have been studying about the champagne color with much interest. The coats are also a unique hue and have an almost metallic sheen to them, not just a shine.

Here is one of our Champagne filly, Rose.

That was taken when she was just a weanling and her eyes were in mid stage of turning from blue to amber (still mostly blue at that time). Her eyes are much more amber now. I'll try to see if I can get a better close up of her "in the now"...and will try to post sometime tomorrow or as soon as I can grab another spare second.

Go to Cavanaughs Westwind Farms site and check out Little Kings Buck Off. He is a golden eyed buckskin. Have seen him several times, he is quite breathtaking.

I do not have real good photo of them ,but my buckskin stallion Ace has amber eyes..I have wondered for a while if her might be Champagne.

: he had two colts this year both were born with blue eyes and both changed to his maber color of eyes, But goldenreally more if a true amber.

I personally have a hard time with the ice blue eyes, although one of our loviest mares has them.........

It's those golden amber eyes that get me. They are so hard to find, so hard to pass on........and I love them!

Here's a pic of Tuffy's eye that I took today too, just cause he was wondering why I was out there pestering little Rose, and not him...so I took one of him too.
