I feed Gro n Win, have fed it for a little over a year now.
I think it is like 32% protein (?) and it is loaded with everything and more. I am a huge fan of this product, actually all buckeye products! It does cost around $21 a bag but it will last you longer then a bag of sweet feed and is much better for your horses imo so its also more cost eficient.
When you buy your first bag of Buckeye, they have this little cup that comes with it and when filled to the top of that cup with a buckeye product it = 1/2 pound. I feed a little less then 3/4th of that cup am/pm to my show horses and my yearling colt BUT they do allot of work as far as conditioning, training ext so if your horse is just being stalled and maybe lunged a couple minutes a day it would prob take much less then that amount. Buckeye is so good, i was always told by the distributers not to put any suppliment or any other grain into it unless you want to add oats but no real need to.
My gelding who is just a pet love bug gets 1/4th of the buckye cup am/pm (that comes out to 1/8th pound am and 1/8th pound pm) of buckeye and that amount keeps him really well. My breeding stallion get 1/2 buckeye cup am/pm (that comes out to 1/4th pound am and then that at night as well).
It does not add that much energy imo, it prob does make them feel better though as i call it 'health food for horses'. Dont you feel better after eating a salad and fruit as compared to a big mac and frys and milk shake?
I am a buckeye product fan, i'd love to be a sales rep for them some day. There products are amazing.
