...the newest aquisition to Moore Acres...

Names "Bronc" on his BLM papers, they call him "Bo". I personally dont care for either name, so am open to any suggestions! I'm kinda fond of Keno...what do you guys think? Should I even bother changing it at this point, considering his age?

He was pulled off the range as a 4 years old, which is a little later than most. He's currently 11 years old and about 14.2hh. He's broke to ride, but I haven't been on him yet. He's a very smart boy and wants to please, but can be stubborn at times. He has issues being caught and recently loading in the trailer. He's not real thrilled about having his hooves handled either, but we are working on all of these things and he has already come a LONG way in the last 4 days.

Long story short, I ran into some old friends, that I hadn't seen in a couple years, at the feed store the other day. They had purchased him back in November and were having issues (the ones mentioned above). They had decided that he would be too much horse for either of them so were going to resell him, when along came me...

"Bo" and I get along real well. He seems to really like me and is already beginning to trust me. I'm in no rush to ride him just yet, wanna build on that trust and be able to do anything with him before we ride too much.

Unforunately, buying this big guy means that I have to cut back on the minis. I hate the thought of selling my "kids", but riding is something that I've put off for quite a few years and I figure that life is too short to waste, so I'm gonna have fun and enjoy what I can of it.

Without further ado...

Can't go wrong with a good buckskin. Nice looking boy. How about "Dandy"? My friend had a buckskin gelding named Dandy, and he sure was a dandy.

[No joke, he was an awesome saddle horse.]

He looks like he's going to be a wonderful friend for you........and you're right, he's definitely NOT a "Bronc" or a "Bo". I bet he doesn't even like either of those names. Have you tried the name you like on him? If he likes it, he just may let you know with his body language.

So I started calling him Keno this morning...He seems okay with it. So now I just gotta get in the habit of saying Keno instead of Bo.

I played with him this morning after I fed. He comes right up to me in the field to see if I have any treats and follows me around for the most part. Let me halter him, brush him, and pick all four hooves with the hoof pick. I am so in love.

He sure is a nice looking fellow. Congratulations. Joyce

What a handsome boy. Have you located where he was caught by going to the website? That would be some interesting information. He looks like there is some Kiger in there.

You will be needing some tack I'm sure I still have that roping saddle setting here taking up room. I don't know what kind of bit has been used on him previously but I also have a couple of those hanging in the shop. One great thing about mustangs you won't be needing any shoes.

I'm not sure what all is laying around here from previous purchases of tack.

Keno is a nice name and hopefully he will learn to come to it. How much do you know about his history? How he was originally trained. Has he been trail ridden much or worked cows at all?
