logdumb (spell?)

Ok it seems like every western I have seen this week someone wants logdumb sp?

They used it for pain or go to sleep.

What the heck is it? I would do an online search to find out what it is but my spelling of it is to far off to find it

I think the spelling is Laudanum.

Laudanum is an opium tincture, sometimes sweetened with sugar and also called wine of opium.

Yep! Camelotcavs is correct. In Tombstone, Wyatt's wife was addicted to laudanum. It was good for headaches but since it was an opiate, very addictive.
