Hi guys! I posted about a month ago about my very first Driving Show and had mentioned that my little guy was in training and was getting ready to pull a tire for the very first time... well... not only did he pull the tire, but he went on to being hooked for the first time on May 6th, then we drove him while in the cart for the first time on the 16th... He has done so very well!! I am over the moon!! He has certainly taken to this like a duck in water!! And my worries of a year ago that he would be too small to do this... well those have flown out the window! He is one determined mini who has NO CLUE that he is the smallest horse in the barn! I believe he truly loves every minute of this!! I have attached some pics for you guys, many of you had asked me to keep you updated on how things have been going. These were taken on Monday. We had had several downpours throughout the day that caused a good sized puddle at the end of the barn so we took advantage of it! This was his first time encountering water while being driven and as with everything else, he took it all in stride!

Darci- VERY NICE!! Everything looks like it fits your little guy very well. That makes it much easier for him to do his job.I would not guess that he is a "greenie". He looks very happy to be working with you. I would like to know where you got your harness, please. Peggy

Hi Peggy ~ THANK YOU!! All the credit goes to my wonderful trainer, Janelle Marshall, she has done a SUPERB job with him!! I am so blessed to have a wonderful horse and very knowledgeable trainer! It has been & continues to be one of the greatest experiences of my life! I have gone from thinking he may be too small, then well he's small & can do it, but we probably won't be competitive to thinking we may just be a bit competitive after all! LOL I have known him since he was born and have owned him since he was about 6 months old, he wasn't meant to be a driving prospect when I got him, I just got him because I fell in love with him and that was that LOL But he has turned out to be even more than I EVER dreamed he would be!

My harness is a Camptown: http://camptownharness.com/index.php?pg=Just%20for%20Minis&i=42

I absolutely love it!! Everything fits great and Marjean was great to work with! She is located in Aiken, SC, which is where I live, but I know she does harnesses for people all over the country. I have been told it can be a challenge to get them to fit the smaller minis correctly (my guy is about 31.5" - 32" at the wither), but I have not one complaint!

Wow, he looks great and I would never guess he was that green. Keep up the good work and have fun with him!

How exciting!!!!

Love your smile in the first photo, the grin says it all.

I am thrilled for you, what an exciting time for you and Billie. Thank you for sharing your photos, they are lovely

That is so wonderful to hear.

I feel the same about my mini, who nearly was a goat. Financially I think my DH may have been happier had I gotten a goat to eat down the grass...lol

How is Billie going now, have you had many more drives?
