We brought home a Nubian cross doe this week to join our family. Intially we bought her as a compaion for my gelding as he is the last horse we have and was getting very lonely , he was just sitting in the corner looking out. But now we very well may be hooked, she is very sweet and cute as a button. Brought her home and he flipped ran around crazy and then i would walk over to see him and he would turn his back to me, talk about cold shoulder!! lol but he is doing better now and lays down as close as he can get to her pen and also stands there when not eating or begging for treats. I plan on keeping them seperate ( she might be due end of july) but once her quarintine is up i will be moving her pen closer so they can keep each other company while i am not at the place.

Good luck with your goatie.

We raised both pure pygmy and fainter crosses for a few years, but all we have left right now is one of my original pygmy does. She is such a part of the family now...I hate to think of her ever having to "go"...but she is 15 or 16 years old now; and that is several years older than the norm.

Such characters...goats. I know that old Kuka thinks she runs the place.

Congrats! I love goats, and Nubians can be real characters! I have Nigerian Dwarf goats right now 6 adults and 3 kids, expecting my last set of kids sometime in the next week or so.

Congratulations on your new family member! I adore my goats (Myotonics) and would never have believed how wonderful they were until I got the first one. Then I was hooked! jennifer
