and what classes will you be showing in? A friend an I are thinking of going, but it's a long drive (4 for me and 5 for her) and we're curious to see how many others plan on going. Thanks!

I am still on the fence about going to this show. I don't know if its worth traveling to if the classes aren't filled. It kinda defeats the purpose for me. I am planning on going to the clinic at Cumberland for sure sunday the 28th with Lee Crutchfield. I hope to get some awesome pointers that I can take to the Colonial show.We are going to the Colonial show the following weekend with a bunch of our minis for sure. My money may be better spent that way. I am focusing on the R rated shows.

Oh you party pooper! :bgrin Well, you can fit all your horses into one trailer. I can't LOL. I have 10 horses and one foal I'd like to show this year, but I'd like some opinions on if other people think they're nice too before I go sinking tons of money into it...so I was hoping to bring all my A horses to that show and then my R horses to the MMHC show. Then I can go from there and decide who I want to really focus on and get prepared for Nationals. I, of course, like them all and think they're all great.

So I was thinking even if they ARE the only ones in their classes, I can at least ask the judge if he thinks it's worth continuing to show them. But that's a long drive.. 4 hrs to NH just to drive home and 2 hrs back to Cumberland the next day. So if I'm a little grouchy or fall asleep in any of my classes forgive me lol.

So you aren't going to the Colonial Show June 3rd? Its R rated and not too far away. We are also looking at maybe Horsehead NY show if all goes well. Are you going to the one in Mass in June?? I got the list, just havent had time to look at it. The NH show all I would be taking is Hercules if I go.

I'm going and plan to bring at least 5 horses - 3 juniors and 2 seniors.

I have a 6+ hour drive, so if I can make the trek, so can you, Enchantress!! :)

Seriously, from what I have heard the classes will fill. And members of the club that's sponsoring it know what it's like to travel a long distance to a show only to find out the classes aren't full. We've all been there, done that! That's why we help each other out and will help to fill classes where we can if you're trying to get points for Nationals. Heck, even the judges at last year's show commented on how well everyone worked as a team to help each other out! They said they had never worked at such a friendly show where everyone was so cooperative.

What classes are you trying to get points in?

I know we have a lot of Amateurs who will also be entering the Open divisions. Liberty last year had 15 entries and it will probably be the same this year.

I'll be showing in AOTE Mare, Stallion and Gelding

Amateur Level 2 Jr. mare, Jr. Stallion, Sr. Mare and Sr. Gelding.

Open: Liberty with at least 3 horses, Sr. Gelding 30-32, Yearling mare 28-30, 2-yr-old mare 29-31, Sr. mare 32-34, yearling stallion 28-30.

And don't forget the BBQ lunch and cake that is provided thru' the generosity of our wonderful club members!

Hope to see you there!

Jenifer

Millstone Farm

And I almost forgot to add this is a benefit show!!!

Your entries go to help Miniature Horse Rescue activities thru' Chances Mini Horse Rescue and the Northeast club's rescue fund.

Well I have to say I am up in the air about this one, I am totally new to showing , and I only have one A registered horse right now, and there is another show the same day, that is more low key. I am only about an hour from the Townstead one, but I just don't know if I'm ready??

How do you get info on the Colonial one, most of my minis are R's ?

Actually I think the weather will play more of a factor with me going to NH. Even if its an inside ring, you still have to get from your trailer to the ring (fair weather exhibitor here

) And its just one horse I would be taking and if the driving classes don't fill, I really don't gain a whole lot. Lee Crutchfield is coming to Maine on Sunday, so I won't miss the opportunity of showing under him and getting the pointers and tips. I am going to venture to the Colonial Show where I can load up my trailer with minis and show.

This year's game plan is the NH show, the MMHC show, Colonial, Horseheads Mini-Rama, Area 1 and then R Nationals. If I have to hit a couple others to get momma and baby qualified then I'll do that too.

I didn't sign up as an ammy this year to save money so I'll be doing all open.

Yearling colt 30-32"

Sr Stallion definitely 30-32 debating on bringing my 32-34 and 28-30

Sr Mare 28-30 and 32-34

It's not the 4 hr drive, it's the getting up at 3 am to leave by 4 am with a 4 hr drive, showing, driving the 4 hrs home just to get up at 5 am the next morning and drive 2 hours with my other set of horses to another show. Gonna be a rough weekend!

I am fairly new to showing minis so I am going for the mentored beginner classes. But I will also show open and amateur as long as I have to get the horses ready. I am bringing a 2 year old mare (31-33") and a yearling stallion (maybe 28-30" but I am not sure). And they will both go in Liberty! The filly will also debut in halter obstacle.

I am going and it is about a 40 min drive:)

I will be taking my new little yearling filly I got from Deb!

It will be my daughters first show 6 and 4 and I am very excited!

I am not bringing any of my other mares....it will be enough to get one horse and 2 kids ready!!

I will put Miss Kitty in halter, color and costume.......the kids will show her in the last 2 and possibly all three!!

I think we are all in for a fun day out!!

C'mon ladies I want to see your pretty horses in person:)

I'll be going :saludando: I have 2 senior Geldings that will halter and one obstacle and another gelding for Liberty. Jen are you bringing your Liberty horses again? That was a fun class last year! My Tempe (who never showed Liberty got 3rd) Kristen will show Phantom in Liberty and we have Tempe if needed. Anyone else going?

I'm going and taking just my 2 year old gelding. I'll be going in Amateur Level 1 Jr. Geldings, 2 year old geldings and Liberty. Hoping the Memorial Day traffic isn't too bad.

:aktion033:

I am going to just watch and meet all of you! I might bring Fabio! Stop by and say hello!

I'm going and bring a trailer full (6)! We're willing to fill classes if anyone needs us to. Bonnie, looking forward to finally meeting you. I think we'll meet quite a few new people because of the RESCUE. This is going to be a great show. How about those mentored classes, those should be very informative and helpful to the first time exhibitors. The facility is the best we've been to in the Northeast! Looking forward to seeing/meeting you all.

Yes, a two year old. He will be entered in Amateur Levels 1 & 2, AOTE, and Open. Who is Phantom? I can't wait to show under Lee as a judge again this year! We showed with him at Horseheads last year. Are you going to Horseheads? We'll be there. So, will Kristen be a youth mentor?

Hmm...looks like maybe I should get a gelding? lol.

So does anyone have a 28-30 sr mare, 30-32 sr stallion and 30-32 jr colt? Come one, I KNOW someone must! hehe. I think someone else said she had a 32-34" sr mare, so I'll have company in at least one class!

So I have another question as far as papers. I just paid off a couple horses and just got the papers to send in to AMHA. I actually thought to make my colour copies BEFORE sending out the originals to be transferred (go me!), but my question is where the person I bought them from is technically listed as the owner, do I need them to sign off on the show form or can I do it? I'm not doing Amateur at all this year for AMHA so that doesn't matter, but I'm just not technically listed as "owner" yet.

I'm so excited as I think I'm just going to bring the 4 (leaving my 28-30 and 32-34 stallions at home) since it will be the first time 3 of them have ever been shown. Should be fun!

Hey Sue - Yes, Tomas is going to do Liberty. I just might put all 5 of my horses in it. What the heck - the show's for a great cause (mini horse rescue) so what's a few more entry fees, right?

None of the other horses have done liberty before, so it should be interesting to say the least. It wouldn't be the first time my horses embarrass me (and it certainly won't be the last!).

Enchantress - I'm the one with the tall Sr. Mare. My yearling stallion looks to be in the under 30" class, but if he's nervous and scrunches up his back, he might be in the taller class.

I can't wait to meet all of the Forum members I've never met before. I'll be easy to spot - I'll be the one with the very naughty yearling colt!

I'm pretty sure my colt's just about 31" right now. People who don't know either of us may get us confused, cause I too will have a naughty yearling colt.
