Now that I have found out that my little stud horse is 19 years old this year , I am curious to know if someone has or can research what is the oldest mini stud active or on record.

Thanks and God Bless

CB

Well, Buckeroo is 32 this year and still breeding....I have a boy that is 22 and still going strong.

We have a 28 year old stud that is going strong. Have had him since he was 2 months old.

Mine is 20 and shucks, yeah, compared to some of these, he's just a young guy yet, LOL My neighbors had one still breeding at 26.

I'd say Buckeroo is the oldest mini I've heard of, but Rabbit is also still breeding. Jane, how old is Rabbit now?

I believe Johnstons Gold Boy was 28 when he bred his last crop if I remember correctly. Gold Bar was 27 and Mickey Mouse was 27 also I believe. Good genes in the GMB line

Was just curious if LK is preferring to do AI with Buckeroo now....

Xenon is 27 and we had foals from him last year.

Tony, are you still field breeding him?

Willowbrooks Farm Sir Lancelot turned 26 just recently and still "THE MAN". I have another who's 23 and doesn't know it! If kept in good health, they are pretty reliable.

My oldest mare is now 27 and she was showing to a stallion last week

Now, I don't know that she's still dropping eggs BUT, I had to move the stallion to keep them apart! Her last foal was several years ago. Your Camelot, Tony. She's wanted to have more but I pretty well stopped a lot of breeding. Besides, that rascal just wanted to pump out 5 boys for each girl, LOL. I'd love another filly from her, she's a Little Husseler daughter. I thought about breeding my Buckeroo daughter this year, then checked her papers and realized she's 26 this year, so changed my mind

She's healthy and all but I don't need to put her thru it!!!

Hemlock Brooks Cock Robin is also 32, and I believe is still breeding. He is living his retirement out with Angie Bauer at Hoofbeat Buckon Acres. I know she got a lovely filly from him a couple years ago, and the last time I talked to her, she was thinking about breeding him to one of her mares again, just to see if she would get another just as nice.

I believe there is an old post on here about Buckeroo. I think Robin said he does live covers for the few mares he is bred to, but only very calm well manored mares (If I recall it correctly). The post had stated about being worried about a heart attack. Many of the older gents just can't take alot of dancing and excitement.

I thought Buckeroo was 31??

I always had him at a year older than Rabbit?

Could be wrong.

Yes, Rabbit is still breeding, I tried to retire him last year but to no avail, stallions do not understand that at all.
