I don't watch infomercials, period; tonight will be one of those times when I am DOUBLY thankful for my satellite service(I do not have TiVo, though have been saving up to upgrade my service so that I may, sometime before too long.)
I have already voted. Although I agree that it is a good idea to try to be informed, I'm not interested in supporting the notion of a blatantly broken promise that allows payment for a 30 minute self-aggrandization. I have no doubt it will be hailed as a 'stellar' performance, full of the kinds of pronouncements that many wishful thinkers long to hear...but that has little to no correlation to what is likely to ACTUALLY occur. Remember, I've seen this before---lots of times, in 46 years as a voter.
Actually, IMO, it is OBSCENE, the amount of money that most candidates for public office now are 'moved' to spend to try to influence voters. In this particular case, I find it VERY 'off-putting' that this extreme spending for just that purpose was made possible by a candidate going back on his word. Now, before all you apologists jump to point out that 'everybody' lies? Don't bother; I am all too well aware of how widespread that is; still doesn't mean it should just be 'blown off', but rather, remembered, and considered when forming one's opinions(unless of course, you don't think it matters....)
As history has clearly shown, we haven't had ANY 'perfect' people in our highest offices for some time, have we? That being the case, and since I have no other choice, I'll 'settle' for certain kinds of imperfections over others--and have already firmly decided who I think is the more likely to truly put our ENTIRE country first. That isn't the Democrats' candidate.
