Seven, my lack of info was intentional due to so little time and so much to do around here and secondly, to prod people to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. Actually, I meant to put this in the Back Yard and stuffed up and put it here. Maybe a good thing because the Back Yard is getting so little foot traffic. Maybe with my stuff up Carriage will come out and join with lots of info in tow?
Edited to say don't know if I originally put it on the Porch or the Yard. Oh, well, they say your mind is the first thing to go. Tee/hee. Maybe the mods will just put it wherever it should go for me. I really really have to go get busy if ever I am to get this place ready to sell and head down the stretch to retirement.

The way my bones are yelling at me, it's probably time for me to downside also. Too many acres to take care of. I love reading any post that Carriage puts up.

Well, I think we could all agree that the current system for paying income taxes is broken. It really gets my goat that Lois Lerner will get away with her lies and deception. Boener had his chance to see that a bit of justice is served but he blew it being the Cry Baby and Weeper of the House that he is. The things people are getting away with on the hill make Nixon look like an altar boy.
I agree with Sonya. We need a flat tax but Heaven forbid it be designed by same designers that came up with Affordable (yeah right) Health Care.
Maybe if 501C3s were done away with we could actually have some preaching from the pulpits that were speaking truth rather than being scaredy cats afraid of losing their tax free status. They could still be charitable but might not get to have all the fancy buildings and such extravagance that the mega churches now have. Sermons nowdays have gotten to be so politically correct, basically they give up freedom of speech. I had rather sit in a plain chair in a crowd of 20 hearing truth than on a luxurious seat in a crowd of 2000 listening to fluff.

I have always said that a flat tax would be the fairest system of taxation.
Whatever percentage it may be--say 10% just as an example--what can be more fair than everyone paying 10% of whatever they make? If you make $10 million a year why shouldn't you pay your full share of tax on that, just the same as the poor fellow making $20,000 per year? It is a joke that someone making $60000 pays 25% taxes and someone making half a million pays a fraction of that because of tax write offs and what have you. They need to have a government made up of "poor" people and things would be quite different.

It lends a credibility to taxation in the first place. Most folk have no clue as to how many and how much tax is paid in the first place. Also as I have stated before the "personal income tax" is only needed by the fed bankers to be paid back for the debt the ALWAYS put on a nation. The income tax came about at the same time as the federal reserve act. Our country was set up to run on import duties and tarrifs and excises. NO tax. A small and servant fedgov has no real or Constitutional "need" for taxes and our taxs don't run the government anyway.
Miss. Vicky and any others (Lucky) interested in truth and fixing things, I strongly recomend the following
1) The creature from Jeckyl island. A superb and well written primer on money systems but it reads more like a suspense thriller.
2) War is a racket by Gen. Smedely Butler. Starts ith the line "I was a hitman for the bankers".
3) The two part DVD series called "The money changers" Another thriller showing you who the slave mster is. At the end the guy reveals the VERY simple fixes that have us out of financial troubles in two years and then opperating with a legitimate money and banking system that is not preditory.
If you keep feeding the monster, it will keep growing and eating you out of house and home,...... LITERALLY. It has gotten so very bad that our govenor is running on a flame out failure of our "obama care" and the millions wasted to produce nothing but ALSO his stated promise to raise taxes considerably. I spite of these in your face promises and failures, he will win, most likely. It is akin to the neo republican chant of "repeal and replace" when speaking to the horrow of the "health care system". Repeal YES! Replace NO! The answer is to get gov. OUT of healthcare. The second part of the answer is scary to most. Get rid of the insurance co's that DRAMATICALLY raise the price of healthcare........Sometimes going backwards is FAR more preferable than this mythical "progress" everybody seems to strive for

Carriage, is The Money Changers a documentary, a movie, on youtube or what? Might have a night of it, along with popcorn for me and hubby this weekend.
I hate to sound like the prophet of gloom and doom, but realistically I don't think our country will ever get out of the hole we have dug for ourselves. All the reasons for making plans to prepare for the worst. When I look at how my paycheck got from the gross to the net I just want to cry. We are literally taxed on everything from our paychecks (those of us who will work), our utilities, road usage, consumables, you name it.
I hate to sound like the prophet of gloom and doom, but realistically I don't think our country will ever get out of the hole we have dug for ourselves.
