Does anyone know of this brand or have any experience with a Waggoner cart and how it would compare to say a Jerald? There is someone a couple hours away from me that has one for sale but I have never heard of this brand.

Thanks!

If it is the same Waggoner, I haven't heard of him for years, he was natorious for buying other builders vehicles and putting his name on them, with or without their permission!

He was in Ohio and in 1994 at the AMHA national show in Columbus,OH I bought a beautiful fancy easy entry cart from him.It has black patent fenders, large wooden blk wheels, a fancy patent dash and blk fuzzy seat.It makes a beautiful parade cart.It has removable shafts which makes it easy to haul.I LOVE IT.It is beautifully made and I have had calls from CA from people wanting to buy it.Sadly he is no longer in business and may not even be alive.I tried to reach him several years ago to get a cover for my cart.I wish all carts had removable shafts since that is the most likely place for breakage.I would buy the cart in a minute.

I too met them at a Reno nationals. Had a chance to sit with them and chat for a while. We talked "shop" and they treated me (as a competing cart builder) wonderfully and gave me good advice.

Well built rigs by folk of integrity as far as I could discern. As to the above stated charge of stealing, I can recall no such incidence and news travels fast among builders....

They seemed to be quality people building quality carts. It broke my heart when they left the industry as it gave Jerald more of the show pie.

Twer me I would choose the Waggoner over the Jereald without hesitation with the intention of keeping it forever.

Wagoner was in IL, and my mom has one of his carts, the one with the big wheels. She bought it used a number of years ago. We bought the wooden wheels for it to start showing at the carriage shows, and it did OK. I don't know how good the Jerald's springing system is, but the Wagoner's is half a leaf spring. Needless to say, there isn't much for "cushioning", but then again, I will take my mini Meadowbrook any day over a show cart!

Otherwise, it is well built and has held up well over the years, including Cones and Cross Country courses.

You can see my cart on my web page at www.knollacfarm.net ABOUT US page the bay Mini hooked to the cart at our state Fair.I love my cart.
