I am so very sorry about your foal loss -- sounds like she was gorgeous -- and much anticipated. The wound up cords (and wrapped) are a cruel joke - so sorry they happen so often. I have lost a couple this way and can empathize with how you feel.

Robin, I am so sorry {{{{hug}}}}}. I know how you feel, last year we lost our first foal and infant granddaughter the same day. But I want to share with you what my son said "Mom its okay, God has a reason for everything and God wanted Catlin to have a perfect little horse with her so he took Gracie's foal."

So comfort Muffin she needs her "mom" now and you need Muffin, you two now have a special bond. God has a reason for everything and I think Muffin's foal was needed for someone very special.

Oh, Robin, I am so sorry for Muffin and you. I know you and Muffin and that you would feel all the worse when she wanted you to bring her poor baby to her. I know that is how I felt when my Sami looked at me to "fix" her little deceased colt that morning. She just KNEW I was going to get him up and nursing (I had assisted her with two other births before and made sure her little ones drank and that she had some Banamine for her cramps, so I knew that is what she wanted when she looked at me so eagerly). Just broke my heart and so I do know this pain. Sorry!

The heartbreak of the mare is the hardest part to take, I think, and it just breaks my heart to watch them search and call for a baby that will never come... :no:
