Update: The mini has a stomach infection.

Yesterday I call my 4-H kid and there 2 yr old mini is sick. He is bloated with low grade fever. They call vet and the mini is put on antiobiotics SMZ and Penecillin. They also tubed mini and nothing came up no gas or anything. Today mini is not much better and not eating. Also had a snotty nose.

He will be out of commission for 8 weeks. My dad had 4 stints put in. They hurt. I wish him the best of luck. The stint my dad had killed his bowel and he had emergency surgery.

Well I have 6 mares due this year. I have ecxact due dates if it happens I doubt it. I also breed goats and lost one the other day. I picked up the dead kid and put it in the ground. Breeding is not for the faint of heart. Well said Karen, I feel I've come along way.

I have had him since he was a baby. He is kept with 42" pony gelding. I can keep him with other geldings in winter. He is well mannered. I am getting a new stallion and leasing one for breeding this year. Our new stallion won't be breeding for a while because he will only be yearling.

I agree with Marty. I fought with my mom over big horses. She did not want show them. That is why my mom and I started showing minis together. Now we are the best of friends. I think you are giving up to easy.

We have decided to geld an older stallion. We are changing our breeding program and adding another stallion. How soon til they settle down? How soon can you put them with other geldings?
