The inspector called, he just finished with the barn. Aside from a few wires that are hanging(which I am guessing is by the electrical box as I seen them, they just need to be pinned up) the barn is a go. Theres also a heater in it..........didnt see that when I was looking. I think its in the part where the cars would go its cemented in there. On the pic where the garage door is closed is where the horse stalls are. Nice water hydrant in there too!

We warned him about the smell in the house.......its not pretty right now. Cant wait to get the carpet out and get started on it.

Cool how exciting.

House and barn check out ok! A few minor things like reculk the sink. But nothing major. Hes comeing out tonight to go over the info with us. He says its one of the best he has seen.

THe sewer and well will be done on monday.

It looks like we will get to close by the 8th. That gives us two weekends to get in and do the repairs we need, while we pack here during the week, that way we can get moved in and the people that want here can get move in by there day as well.

Cant wait!

Ashley,

that is so wondrful for you!

We bought a house that needed work, now two years later we are still working but it was one of the best things.

Of course we are living with 'construction mess" and drywalling so that is a whole 'nother mess.

You are going to love being out there, the barn has a wonderful "look" too it.

And the house looks good too from the pictures. If it passed inspection that well your labor will be well worth it.

One day you will be spending a quiet winter evening in your own house with the horses 'snug" in your own barn

Anne

Ashley, Congrats on the new house and barn! You'll be busy I'm sure but it will be worth it.

When your taking out those old nasty carpets be careful! With our construction bussiness we gutted an apartment house that was owned by a college for student housing. You couldn't find carpet and nastier on earth. Couple of us had a bad cough for a few days afterwards and we know it had to be from carpet crud.

Gloves and a mask plus lots of ventilation.

Congrats again!

Bet me! I just pulled two truck fulls and a trailer load of dog urine/feces saturated carpet out the house we just bought. OMG it was one grusome experience but the house has been sanitized from top to bottom and smells normal again. Had to replace a lot of subfloor, use enzymes and a janitorial deoderant like they use at scenes where someone has died in a house but it's worth it. I don't know how people can be such disgusting pigs and live in filth like that

And this is not the worst I saw while house hunting!

Ashley, definately listen to him about wearing the protective gear. I got lax because I was getting tired and hot so I took off my gloves and mask. Definately the WRONG thing to do, now I'm being treated for a giardia infection. :DOH!

Congratulations on your new home and hope you have many happy years there. I'm sure it will be beautiful again under your care.

This one is not urine soaked but it is poop soaked. I dont spell pee when I go in it, but you can smell the crap. We plan to have all windows and patio door open as well when we do this project.

I posted another topic with pics. Looks like we can probably close next week.

nobody else has said it yet but SEE, now you know that this is why the others didn't work out, because YOUR house was just waiting for you to find it
