Well, this has been interesting reading, and enjoyed it very much.

It tells me we must be doing something right, and that is a good thing with our minis.

Now, the ones that are happy with their herd, it will be interesting to see their offspring in the coming years.

thanks to all who shared.

Yes I'm very happy with my herd, happy with the outcome I'm getting with the foals and what those foals are able to accomplish in the show ring and later in the breeding aspect.....I'm always looking at how to make everything better, maybe trying different crosses ext, but really have no desire to add more.....actually I need to offer a few as I have more than I'm using, but I'm having a hard time as each of them really fit the program I'm striving for

Very much so, I love my upcoming stallion words cant even say how much I adore him, and I look out in the mare pen and go wow. Its taken 7 years but I can say yes Im so very happy and we only have 10. I think thats pretty cool. Dont think Im not out there looking cuz I do every day. Maybe this will be the year I dont buy anything ha ha yeah right.

Well, I really love my first minis, but I think my herd could use some tweeking, I would like to add two showhorses to my herd preferably two more mares, and then in a few years, when I more into minis and have more knowledge, I would like to buy two to three broodmares and as many, Im always looking

Very very happy with what I have and the proof is in the pudding as I have had them a VERY long time. We rarely sell or trade out horses we use what we have. Fred has an incredible show record and some really nice babies on the ground which will be in the driving ring this year and they look extremely promising. Fred is now 13 and the same as ever. The mares we have here are all really really nice ones. Becky is a three time national grand champion in driving and has won in halter also. Reckless though only a broodmare had to go to nationals one year as one of the driving horses had to be pulled and did really well. Shadow is a multiple national champion. Ramona is a res national grand champion in driving and is bred to Michigan's Silver Streak this year. Razz is bred to Fred and is one of the nicest moving B mares I have seen. Clancey was shown in hand last year for the first time in several years and went up against a very nice hackney in an open show and he did really well. He is being trained to ride right now [he is a shetland and we showed him as a modern in the open class]. Kisses is Courtney's best bud and they are inseparable. Then there is Max. Max was the only baby we had last year and I gave him to Courtney. He will remain a stallion though as he is just too nice at this point to geld and I don't say that lightly. I really love geldings but this little man at a month and a half beat mature stallions at a rated show and then went and came in third in all stars after going to only two rated shows. He still looks just as nice as a yearling. Yes I am pleased with our guys. Linda

We are very pleased also with our stallions & Mares but are just now starting to see what crosses will produce. Then we'll start the fine tuning of changing that mix to achieve our stamp of the foal. We have quite a variety and have done very well in the show ring; just wish we showed more of them. Its hard to decide which show & which do not. Your trainer has so much input, their openings, style prefered etc. We are always always looking at new farms to find that next addition to impove the mix. Darn, you just never have enough room. Selection becomes a joint decision also & requires those compromises between the farm partners. We do appreicate those farms that have given us approval to bring one of their babies home for our mix even though not all can be shown.

The mini world has served up many new & wonderful friendships as well as days filled with loving minis to roam.
