Lasik Surgery

I am having Lasik surgery tomarrow on my eyes. Has anyone had this done & did you like the results?

Had it done more than five years ago. Went from horrible near-sightedness to 20-12 in one eye, 20-15 in the other. My eyesight hasn't changed much since then. So, I'm a big fan.

I didn't have lasik, but I did have a double lens replacement due to cataracs in both eyes at 41. While doing the lens replacement, I got tweaked. I went from -1475 in one eye, -1425 in the other to -375 and -425. I was the best thing that ever happened to me. I went from totally disfunctional without correction to not having to wear glasses for close-up work only for distance. I would have never been a candidate for lasik due to other issues with my eyes, but this was definately then next best thing.

I had it done about 6 or 7 years ago. I went from being totally dependent on my glasses to 20/20 and 20/30.

Over the years I have noticed a small amount of chance, I wear my glasses when I drive now or if its getting dark.

I have free enhancements and I think I will have it done next year.

Best thing I ever did for myself.

For a while after they were done my eyes got pretty dry but it did pass.

Lasik corrects near-sightness. However , as we get older, we get far-sighted. So in a few years you'll be back to wearing glasses. As I've gotten older each change of glasses is much weaker. Now I don' wear my glasses at all for reading or computer just to watch tv or for travel.

It will be a year this December that I had lasik and I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. I understand that lasik can fix both near and far sightedness. My daughter is far-sighted and they said she just has to wait till she is 18. I am 40 and when I got it done my doc warned me that I may get the "long-arm" syndrom when reading a newspaper. So far so good.

I had it done in 7 years ago. I could have kicked myself for waiting so long to. I was totally depent on glasses and contacts. But now I have 20/20 vision. I wish you well.

It now takes care of Near & far & Astigmatisim (spelling). I will be going in a little bit, will let you know how it goes. I am a little nervous about it. I can have a Valium if I want it to relax me.
