Our first road trip for 2011 is today. Poor Big Dogs and Little Horses. He is going to Elma to pick up Lollipop and we can't let him go alone.

I will pick up Susanne who needs this day out and meet Daryl at his house where our day of fun and adventure begins.

I get to go visit Duckie and Koda Bear. Oh and of course Ron and Dorothy. I'm praying for nice weather and a day of fun and laughter.

We will get pictures to share and update everyone on our trip when we get home.

Sounds fun...have a safe trip!

I have the coffee pot turned on and the fire going. Don't forget you helmet. The Duck awaits your commands.

It is always a special day when friends come to visit.

Ron

Thanks for the weather report. I was wondering how it was. It is frozen but beautiful here also. How close are you to Elma

So helmet check, warm clothes check, camera check, excitement check check check.

We are home. What an absolutely beautiful day. We had soo much fun. Daryl got some pictures of my Koda Bear and a short video of him moving. It was nice to see The Duck also. She is doing great and I'm hoping Ron will post pictures of her he took today.

It was very nice of Daryl to take us along with him on this trip

Thank you Ron.

If you ever get a chance to visit the Whitemans, do it. They are such awesome knowledgeable people. Not to mention Ron makes a great pot of coffee. They give new meaning to the words Great Hosts.

It is an honor to be invited to their planned Brady Loop Drive in April. Making plans now to get Ariel in shape and ready to go.

A funny thing happened during the trip that I should share.

We stopped at Western Horse World in Longview on the way up. I wanted to get some treats for the horses to share while Koda is there. They didn't have my favorite Berry Treats that I usually buy. What they did have was a large plastic container of what looked like very soft treats made of grain, molasses, and other assorted items. I wasn't paying any attention to what they were called and I couldn't possibly read the small print because I didn't have my reading glasses on. So fast forward as we were walking out after paying for them I noticed the name of them "Squeezy Buns" for all classes of horses. Well that cracked me up considering Dorothy is having issues with Koda and the Crupper. Put my glasses on and started reading. They are made by Uncle Jimmy. Ok these were definitely the right ones then. If you would like to check out Uncle Jimmys website go to: www.jimmysballs.com All the horses loved them. It is neat to have these treats individually wrapped so you can put them in your pockets and they won't fall apart.

What a great time! Thanks to Daryl and Marie for inviting me along and thanks to Dorothy and Ron for being such great hosts -- Ron does indeed make killer coffee, and I'm a true coffee snob!

Ducky is a WONDERFUL driving horse -- responsive attentive, powerful yet sensitive. Ron's going to have a blast with her.

Koda, as always, was just a babydoll and was so glad to see his mommy.

...and then there were the dogs. Titus, the Pyrenees, met me at the van and never left me alone...same with their Airedale.

Just an overall great day! Thanks Dorothy and Ron for letting us visit, and thanks Daryl and Marie for taking me along!
